PADI Mermaid Certification (PRIVATE)

Service Description

This is for a private class for you. Join with a friend and get a discount! This form / calendar is to schedule your actual in person time. Your self-paced eLearning portion will be emailed to you after enrolling to take before the pool portion. Expand your understanding of the physical properties of the underwater world and how they affect you as a mermaid, while learning additional routine, exhibition and problem-handling skills. Max depth of 15 feet. The PADI Mermaid™ course includes knowledge development and at least two water skill sessions that develop more dynamic mermaid skills beyond Basic Mermaid™, including many skills that make mermaiding an underwater self-expressive art, separate from other types of diving. (Note that the PADI Mermaid course includes Basic Mermaid, so you can start with PADI Mermaid – there is no need to take Basic Mermaid separately.) To enroll in a PADI Mermaid course, you must be at least ten years old. You need to be able to swim at least 50m/160ft without swim aids, able to float comfortably at the surface for at least 5 mins and in good physical health. As an entry-level mermaid diving course, no prior experience with diving of any kind is required. The PADI Mermaid course has two phases: * Knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Mermaid eLearning. * Two confined water sessions to learn and prepare for mermaiding, rescue/problem management skills and the conduct of mermaid dives. You also learn mermaid skills, such as dolphin (butterfly) kicks, C-shape and U-shape side turns, and some skills distinct to mermaid diving, including backward somersault turn, underwater handshaking mermaid bubbles, and back glides. WHAT TO BRING: Towels, a SECURE swimsuit, snorkel, mask, swim fins (also called bifins, long fins are ok for adults), sandals, sunblock, weight belt w/ weights, drinking water, and a change of clothing. Your own mermaid tail. SAFETY: Please DO NOT bring oversized mermaid tails or tails with extra side fins / drag on the fluke to this class. Finfolk Productions "Signature" style tails are not allowed in this class. "Elite" Mermaid tails by FinFun are not allowed in this class. REQUIRED PAPERWORK: A liability release form, the mermaiding practices statement of understanding, and also a diver medical form. These need to be printed, filled out, and brought with you to class. STUDENT : INSTRUCTOR RATIOS Lessons are private unless you ask us to add on people to your group (extra cost).

Cancellation Policy

A $50 fee will be applied to any rescheduling request. Cancellations will not be refunded any non-refundable fees such as PADI eLearning fees, credit card fees, facility rental fees, pool lane reservation fees, or other external pre-paid things that were already paid for and are not returnable / cancellable for your class for any reason. Any "no shows" are not eligible for any form of refund or credit.
